Created for the book "Onde o Rio Encontra o Mar – City&Sea", this series explores the boundary where the city of Rio de Janeiro meets the Atlantic Ocean. Everyday experiences populating this encounter interfere with the framed landscape: out-of-focus characters bridge the gap between the rigidity of concrete and the vastness of the sea.

In this movement of shot and reverse shot, bathers, workers, and passersby stitch together a dialogue between the urban and the natural that makes the experience of life in this city so unique.
