ARPOADOR
At Arpoador, the city of Rio de Janeiro turns to face itself in a ritual of contemplation. The rocky formation plunging into the sea serves as an amphitheater where bathers, fishermen, divers, and tourists experience different spectacles every day—where sea, sun, mountains, and concrete alternate as both stage and protagonists.
This series is, in truth, a photographic notebook, with no specific start date or foreseeable end. A place to record the different performances that the stretch between Ipanema and Copacabana offers to those who swim there.
